Moreau is among the new "crossover" artists, mixing the contemporary
favorites, with standards, showtunes, Native American contemporary, ancient chanting/fusion,
golden oldies and the classical aria. Such crossover artists, as they are often
tagged, have a long line of predecessors, dating back to the operatic tenor Enrico
Caruso, who nearly a century ago made his first recording. The mixing of different
artistic styles and genres is often taken as a sign of vitality. Will Moreau
belongs the new generation of singers, like Russell Watson, Charlotte Church,
and others that are trying to reach out to people and making other forms of
music accessible to people who might otherwise be unfamiliar with these genres.
